To 16-Month Education Students:
Welcome to the Acadia University Bachelor of Education Program! We are very pleased that you have chosen our School for your professional studies, and that you have opted for our exciting new 16 month consecutive program.
It is important to understand that you are entering a professional program, which entails full-time study in spring session (May 19-June 30), summer session (July 6-August 14), throughout the academic year, and through spring and summer session 2010. Education courses are offered Monday-to-Friday throughout all terms. Students are advised to make their plans accordingly. Of course, the advantage of the compressed schedule is a much earlier graduation, and your acceptance indicates our confidence in your abilities.
Please carefully review the documents listed here concerning orientation, program schedule, fees and financial assistance, practicum, and B.Ed Society. When you enroll in the program, we automatically register you for your spring and summer courses. Registration for Fall/Winter courses will take place in June; we will provide further information about this at orientation. Orientation will also include vital lap-top access information and an opportunity to pay your first tuition installment (due May 19).
On campus accommodations during spring/summer courses are available. For information go to http://www.acadiau.ca/studentaffairs/residencelife/intersession.html .
Be sure to frequently check the School of Education and Registrar's websites during the spring for information updates, and feel free to contact us at the School of Education Office (902-585-1229) with any questions.
We look forward to meeting you.
Yours sincerely,
Ann Vibert, Ph.D.
Director
